A basic training program for designated police officers was conducted on 2025.08.21 at the Divisional Secretariat Auditorium with the aim of obtaining the assistance of police officers to prevent the spread of school-related drugs and free school children from drug-related problems.
At the beginning of the training program, the Chairman of the Seethawaka Coordinating Committee, MP Chandana Suriyaarachchi, participated and it was also announced that all necessary support would be provided by the state to make the regional drug prevention and treatment process more systematic. Officers from Kosgama, Avissawella, and Hanwella police stations were involved in this.
Ms. Kokila, Assistant Director, Laboratory Division, National Dangerous Drugs Control Board, and Ms. Udeshika Lakmali, External Services Officer, External Services Division, provided resources.
In addition, Colonel Manoj, Regional Officer-in-Charge of the Rehabilitation Bureau, was also involved in educating about the rehabilitation process.
